Sleepy, rustic, quaint... three words which are synonymous with rural Britain.
Virgin Media O2 is changing the narrative. Working with Cannon Hall Farm, Virgin Media O2 has created the ‘Connected Farm of the Future’, demonstrating the transformative power of connectivity in the agriculture sector. A network of sensors and monitors has been installed across the 126-acre estate in South Yorkshire, creating efficiencies and saving valuable time and money.
Over the past month the Missive team has spearheaded the brand’s integrated campaign, bringing to life the farming use-cases of connectivity for news desks across the country. Working with Cebr, we were able to forecast that improved rural connectivity could increase turnover in the agricultural sector by 9.4%, equating to an extra £2.5 billion per year for the UK economy. Our copy and content team revealed the full findings in the next chapter of Virgin Media O2's Great Rural Revival report.
As a result of the team’s efforts, coverage has landed across telco, tech and regional titles, while the farm has expressed keen interest in exploring future trials with Virgin Media O2.
Supporting transformative tech trials such as the Connected Farm of the Future is the stuff of dreams for us at Missive. Congratulations to the team at Virgin Media O2 for launching innovations worth shouting about!
